Dear Atenista.Net members,

Last June 10, 2006 to June 18, 2006, Atenista.Net went offline in order to migrate from our recent host to a new host, Powervps.com. We had encountered technical problems that threatened the operations and reliability of the website even when it was online. We had realized that the website cannot continue if its future reliability is questionable and the technical infrastructure of the website was unsecured. A decision had to be made and we decided that for the best interest of the website, we had to transfer the website to a new host whose reliability is unquestionable and rated highly.

We were able to find a host that matched this standard as well as our specific technical requirements in PowerVPS (powervps.com). Not only is its record in reliability proven, it is rated #1 in customer support- a critical requirement as it serves as our direct line for all technical concerns that are beyond our capabilities. They have initially proven their reputation by addressing our difficult requirements and concerns in migrating the website from our previous host to PowerVPS. We were able to accomplish the major requirements of migration on June 18, 2006.

However, we were not able to migrate the latest version of the Atenista Forums due to difficulties in obtaining the latest version from our previous host. Thus, we had to upload our latest back-up of the forums, dated March 15, 2006. Hence, all the latest posts in the forums once reinstated were dated March 15, 2006. We apologize for this unfortunate incident and we hope your support and loyalty to the website would continue despite this setback. We shall continue to service our community by, first and foremost, providing the reliability of the website that it deserves.

Thank you very much.

The University of the Philippines (UP) and the Ateneo de Manila University are among the top 50 best English-teaching universities in the world in this year's New Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject.
Among the universities teaching the English Language and Literature around the world, the University of the Philippines ranked 34th while Ateneo ranked 35th, according to the QS World University Rankings.
